The Influential Leader

The Influential Leader has been created from our experience of working with around 2,000 managers over the last five years. The programme is designed to offer a development opportunity for those who have a heightened awareness of themselves and who may have completed the Front Line Manager programme or something similar.

Delegates are likely to hold responsibility in positions where management demands on them are significant and where they are required to demonstrate a higher level of personal skills and decision-making abilities.

The modules are configured in five blocks of two days each, with the following titles:

Our Facilitators

The Influential Leader facilitators are Thom Dennis and Christina Hosking.

THOM DENNIS

Thom Dennis is an experienced educator, speaker and consultant who for many years was a Royal Marines officer. During his service he spent time on operations and had two tours of duty training Civil Servants, Naval and Marine officers in leadership and stress management. He has 10 years’ experience coaching senior executives through personal and organizational change and facilitating groups of executives to operate as dynamic teams. He works with managing directors and CEOs to develop themselves and their businesses and brings healing to people and situations through the use of energy techniques.

He has developed a process for people and organisations to examine their current situation in a detailed and systematic way, the product being a strongly founded strategy plan. This has been used successfully with a number of different companies.

He holds an MSc in Change Agent Skills and Strategies with the Human Potential Research Group at Surrey University and is a member of the International Association of Facilitators and the Guild of Complementary Practitioners. He also holds the British Psychological Society’s Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing.

Thom’s ability to apply lateral thinking throughout the training process enables clients to take a fresh look at themselves and their perception of the roles they are required to play. He is a source of inspiration in guiding clients to a better understanding of the relationship between self, team and organisational needs. His self-awareness, flexibility, spontaneity and depth of vision all combine to provide a significant learning experience for all those he meets.

CHRISTINA HOSKING

Christina Hosking has over 25 years experience in management, marketing, training and consultancy.

Christina was both a self-starter and an early starter, by age 15 she was running a pair of nursing homes in the West Country. Experience gained in her early career was broad; Manageress of a Designer Fashion Outlet, Restaurateur, Arbitrator (Society of West End Theatre Managers/Theatre Managers Association), PA to 4 Leading Economists (Economist Advisory Group).

In the 15 years up to 1995 Christina worked within Merchants Group (Management Consultancy). During this time she helped set up the group and held a range of positions including, MD of Programmes Telephone Marketing, Training Director, Group Marketing Director and Deputy Group Chief Executive.

In January 1995, she established her own company, Scott King Partnership, providing a range of management, training and consultancy services including:

  • Corporate and personal business management,
  • Interim management,
  • Consultancy & development in Telebusiness, Communication Centres, Customer Management/Loyalty, Research, Human Resource, Corporate and Personal PR.

Her recent clients include: Scottish Widows, DAF Trucks, First Direct, BSkyB, Arden Lawn Group, Marylebone Health Centre, National Australia Group, Clydesdale Bank, CL Solutions, John Charcol, Carlsons.
